The the perfect way to make new international friends and travel companions and at the same time get to know the city better is the free walking tour in Oaxaca. Our aim is to make your experience the most likeable possible in our city, our job is to introduce you to the city  with our history, traditions, and local folklore that you can only experience by walking, and of course make new friends in the process!

Wondering in it magical streets we will take you in a tour of wonders where the mixture of black clay, wool, leather and mezcal gives the true colours, smells and vibes of Mexico.

Our goal is to make you enjoy your trip to the maximum in one of the oldest and most interesting towns of Mexico. We will visit it alleys, its churches and we will give you an insight of all the activities you can do in Oaxaca.

Our guides will always try the best to put a smile on your face and at the same time teach you about this wonderful city in Mexico!

We meet right in front of the Oaxaca Cathedral (our Lady of Assumption) right  in the city center, look for the pink umbrella!

You can’t get lost, every staff member of your hotel or person on the street knows the place.

Free Tour Oaxaca

Oaxaca Street Food Tour

This tour is different in every city! Don’t pay hundreds of dollars for a tour, we believe that everybody should have the right to enjoy the flavours of a new country and to learn the history of its cuisine without having to spend a large amount of money.

This is a tour where you will try the best street food from Mexico and Oaxaca with the charisma and expertise of one of our guides!

We will take a 5 min. walk from the meeting point Oaxaca Cathedral (same as for the free tour) point to Mercado Benito Juarez the most important market in the city there we will have our first stop and right after we will go wonder the streets of Oaxaca where we will try the flavours of the different vendors of the streets and markets, don’t expect gourmet food, this is the real and authentic street food eaten by the locals of Oaxaca, you will learn about the history of the market, we will explain you the origins of what you are eating and most important you will get to taste the real flavour of Mexico.

Before the tour the guide will have a couple of minutes to get to know you while you walk from the meeting point to the market and therefore he/she will tell you what foods you should definitely try according to your taste, that options of food you can choose and what you may not like so much.

Free Tour Oaxaca

Mezcal Distilleries, and Hierve el Agua Tour

A full day tour with some of the best things to see and do in Oaxaca.

During the whole trip you will be accompanied by an English Speaking guide that will attend to all your questions and provide any help you might need, from one point to the other we will be in a comfortable van with aircon and enough space for a comfortable trip.

The trip begins and ends in the Zocalo but if you are staying in a hotel in the city center we can arrange a hotel pickup.

First we go and visit Tule, a tiny town that is home to the biggest Tree in the world that already turn 2000 years of age. Our guides will tell you every detail you would like to know of this wonderful tree from its biology to its history.

We will visit the artisanal rug workshop, where each peace of cloth they make is done in the same way as it was made for the last 600 years.

Ever wanted to know how the real Mezcal is done? well here is you chance to know, we will take you to one of the most important distilleries in Oaxaca where time seems to have stoped given that all the methods of distillery are as old as the city where they stand, and if you want of course you can taste the many varieties and flavours that you will be given absolutely free!

Then we will go to Mitla, an ancient Zapotec city that was the religious center of that culture, we will enter the palace and even the tombs, our guides will give you the explanation of the architectural landmark, the material and the process of construction and of course, the religious ceremonies.

And to finish a perfect day, after a long tour under the sun of Oaxaca we will take you to relax and refresh in the completely natural pools of Hierve el Agua that are located on top of a petrified waterfall. There you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the mountains and a unique natural wonder, Don’t forget your bathing suit and a towel!

Free Tour Oaxaca

Monte Alban, Black clay and Alebrijes Tour

A full day tour with some of the best things to see and do in Oaxaca.

First we go and visit Monte Albán, the largest city of the Zapotec, possessing the dominant power of the central valleys region. Be impressed with its great square, the ball game, the Tomb Seven and many more sites of great interest.

After admiring this archaeological site, you will arrive at San Antonio Arrazola, where the population is dedicated to the manufacture of alebrijes carved in wood, decorated with multiple colors; You will appreciate the imagination and the unique talent of each craftsman.

Then you will meet San Bartolo Coyotepec where you will get to know the famous black clay pottery, baked in an underground oven, using old techniques of burnishing and setting.

Mezcal Tasting Experience (18+)

If you ever wanted to try good mezcal this is the place for you, we will take you to one of the best and most traditional bar of Oaxaca with a very nice staff and a very comfortable and happy atmosphere, where can you get this much fun for this price?!

The experience includes 10 half-shots of mezcal and mezcal based liquors that during your time with us our guide  will explain the history of mezcal, since it was first produced by the native cultures of Mexico, its change during the Spanish conquest and how it is produced today.

With every taste your guide will let you know the specifications of every single sample, like the place where it is produced, the ageing period, the spices used to obtain a certain specific flavour and even what wood was used for the barril that hold that mezcal.

After that you can choose to leave the bar but we are almost sure you will want to stay and keep having fun!

Temazcal (Prehispanic Sauna-Spa)

The experience begins in a stem house full with aromatic herbs to make the air you breath even more enjoyable, there you will get a limpia (a soft massage with herbs and branches) designed to make you forget all of your problems at least for a while.
